Fear of Rejection

Dramatis Personae (in order of appearance)

Jesse: A young female fixer. Usually giddy, not much is known about her past.

S.A.R.V.: A nearly psychotic boosterganger recently kicked out of Maelstrom. This guy is armed to the teeth.

Locktrus: A tactically oriented Combat engineer. Very sharp.

Tat: A quiet solo.

Scotty aka Ripperdoc: Ripperdoc who's shop is being used as a base. Very popular with the local gangs for obvious reasons.

Charis: An intelligent, good looking, self-medicated medtech. She is usually delusional.

Neo: ex-poser ganger. Netrunner that gets frustrated with ditsy girls.

Maria: An ex-Russian Commander who now spends most of her time drowning her sorrows.

The game picks up right where we left off, in the Slammer directly after killing the Night City Stalker.

The three boosterganger bodies are dragged out to Jesse's car. The plan is to sell the bodies for cash. Jesse suggests checking inside for a Ripperdoc.

SARV comes out to the group and introduces himself. He is one of the boosterganger that helped take out the Stalker and is bleeding from a minor wound that he got in battle. The group is suspicious of him but SARV offers protection from "the enemies" that they have made recently.

He explains he just recently got kicked out of Maelstrom when he was considered a liability. His skin itches really bad but he doesn't say anything.

They head back in and find a Ripperdoc who offers his services. Suspecting trouble the party also hires out a Combat engineer named Locktrus and another Solo named Tat.

A small fleet of robocabs is hailed and the party heads off to the Ripperdoc's headquarters.

Upon arrival the bodies are stowed away and cash is exchanged. SARV takes the oppurtunity to ask the Ripperdoc about his skinweave being irritated. Now his artificial shoulders are also becoming sore.

The Ripperdoc tries to figure it out but it apparently has nothing to do with his cyberware and he isn't very good with general medical conditions.

Charis, offering her services, checks out SARV and diagnoses him with the Cyberware Immuno-Rejection Virus. She explains that this can be caused by many different things but his case seems linked with a virus.

Realizing the virus is contagious she in turn checks everyone in the group. It appears that the Ripperdoc and Charis have both contracted it through contact with SARV. If it's not fixed soon the infected people will either die or undergo major surgery.

SARV, suspecting he got the virus from his gang, proposes a raid on the Maelstrom hideout. Maelstrom consists of around 15 gangers most of which are cyberpsychotic. It is assumed that the gang is corporate sponsored because of the amount of cash that they have access to.

Locktrus organizes the party and they head out to the mall to pick up supplies. There he buys 16 surveilance cameras with thermograph and a laptop computer to link them all together.

The party sets up cameras around the perimeter, keeping a wary eye out for anyone that might come along the street. Tat is sent out to place cameras on the building itself since he had the best stealth skill.

It is quickly determined that no one is inside and that Maelstrom has been gone for some time. 10:45 PM

Tat goes around on the rooftop with his monokatana placing cameras at key points.

He determines that there are two secret rooms toward the back, one is for cyberware installation and the second looks like a mdeical lab.

Inside he spots a vile labeled "C.I.R.V. Biotechnica."

Tat locates computers in the main room and Neo is called up to splice into the data cables. After about 30 minutes Neo prints off some comuniques from Biotechnica talking about the testing of the virus. They reveal it's still in the experimental phase. 11:25 PM

The party heads out for the main Biotechnica facility in the neo-corporate zone. Upon arrival reconaissance is done. A trickle of people are constantly leaving the building. Tat and the Ripperdoc try to talk an employee out of giving them his lab coat but fail.

Charis has better luck when she encounters another person on the street and convinces him to give her the lab coat. Meanwhile Neo and Maria are working on making a real looking ID and failing miserably. Eventually the print out a cardboard tag that says "College Pass" and give it to Charis.

Charis heads into one of the side doors as someone else is leaving, trying to look as naturally as possible.

She talks to a couple of the techies inside and is eventually given a tour of the virus facility. However she doesn't find what she's looking for so she pushes the Tech further. Eventually he mentions another lab beneath the storage area but he says he doesn't have clearance and hurries off.

Charis heads back outside and a diversion is staged.

SARV, by this time, is freaking out of the idea of losing his cyberware. He is sweating and visibly nervous. Anxious to do something so he is glad when Locktrus approaches him with a plan.

12:30 AM: Charis, wlaking clamly outside with her lab coat, is suddenly grabbed by a ferocious looking boosterganger who throws her over his head and begins running for the street.

The snipers on the roof can't get a clear shot at him so they send a security task force after the culprit.

Almost every door on the Biotechnica facility burst open as a small army is dispatched to take out the nuisance. In the confusion Locktrus, Tat and Neo slip inside the storage facility.

SARV heads straight for a manhole that was prepared for him. The sewers are full of flamable methane. He heads directly for the predetermined destination where the Ripperdoc is waiting for them.

The intrusion trio head down a well hidden spiral staircase that leads two floors down into a labratory. Most of the lights are already turned off.

The trio goes from room to room looking for the CIRV development area, Tat is left in the hall to stay guard.

A Medtech comes sliding around the corner, pulling out a gun to take care of Tat.

From inside the room Locktrus pulls out his monokatana and jams it through the wall.

The medtech slides into the wall with a thunk. Raises his pistol and is sliced is half as a katana blade pops out of the wall.

Locktrus continues going from room to room until he spots another Medtech. The others are sent to look for the antivirus as he heads out to take care of it.

The combat hardened engineer slides into the room and opens up with a SMG before the medtech has a chance to respond. There on the counter is two viles, one labeled "CIRV virus" and "CIRV anti-virus.

He takes both, puts them in a first aid container, and destroys what research he finds.

The trio begins its ascent up the stairs. By this point a couple of guards have returned to their post.

A small firefight ensues. All three guards are mowed down but not before one of them manages to shoot Neo in the leg a couple times.

As the trio exit the building Maria mows down two more guards that were waiting for them.

They make a discrete exit in a robocab.

A couple blocks over SARV and Charis emerge from a man-hole with Ripperdoc waiting to greet them.

The shouts of people chasing after them can be heard in the sewer. The Ripperdoc takes a couple steps back and fires into the sewer. The entire block goes up in a big fireball, roasting the people still inside. Manholes from a block over shoot up into the sky.

The second group exits and they all regroup at a safe distance.

THE PLAN: 1)We have full, exclusive control over the CIRV. 2)Maelstrom is still a liability and needs to be taken care of. 3)Infect Maelstrom with the virus and let them die on their own.
